Disappointment

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 10, 2008, 11:15 PM
  • Mood: Annoyed
  • Listening to: Down With the Sickness - Disturbed
  • Reading: Art theft reports!
  • Eating: Nanimo
  • Drinking: Water
Lately I've been receiving a lot of reports of art theft ( I even reported it many times already but it seems like they don't really care!!!) and just last night I was informed that my work is used for commercial purposes in a form of a pillow. It is really infuriating to think that they make profit by using someone else's work. Taking advantage that I don't reside in the US.

I'm really disappointed and discourage to put images in the internet...
I'm so annoyed...

Life is like a clean canvas. We are the artist.
For every stroke and every color we use dictates the output.
It doesn't matter how we render it as long as we can proudly say it is our masterpiece.

About choosing colors... ask yourself these things:
*what is the mood?
*what feelings do you want to imply? (a bit of color psychology can help)
*is it based on reality or is it fantasy? the impossible...
*what time of day is it? (for sceneries or images with BGs)

As for advice, any color would do... it is about expressing yourself but if you wants some technicalities then study color harmonies and theories. Experimenting and trying things on your own would eventually develop your artistic sense. To find out things that would work and things that won't is a part of it.. maybe as time passes by, as you look at your old works you would realize how much you have grown. So, keep trying and keep learning while enjoying what you do. Good luck~

No prob, I suggest that you focus more on line art first from now on... I mean it is only a suggestion... then after line art, work with composition and lighting. Don't wprry these things can be learned in time.
